Position Title: Azure Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 6 months (potential for extension)

Pay Rate Range: $83.35/hr to $100/hr

Location: 100% Remote (supporting PST)

Target Start Date: ASAP

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Azure SME to assist with the migration of servers from VMware to Azure Stack. This role is integral to the successful completion of a large-scale migration project and requires an individual with deep expertise in Azure Stack, server migration, and VMware environments. The Azure SME will be responsible for coordinating migration activities, racking and stacking new hosts, and ensuring seamless server transitions.

Key Responsibilities

Support the migration of servers from VMware to Azure Stack.

Rack and stack approximately 80 new hosts.

Follow a documented process to manage the migration of thousands of servers.

Coordinate with application teams to schedule necessary outages and ensure smooth migration.

Restore and verify server functionality post-migration.

Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting throughout the migration process.

Required Skills and Experience

Extensive experience with Azure Stack and server migration processes.

Strong knowledge of VMware environments.

Proven track record managing large-scale server migrations.

Excellent coordination and communication skills for collaborating with application teams.

Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a similar role within a large organization.

Certifications in Azure and VMware.

Familiarity with endpoint monitoring and security tools.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position, with candidates required to support PST hours.

Candidates can be located anywhere within the U.S.
