Part-Time - Network Engineer-2 days per week onsite - 3 months with possible extension

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, installing, and supporting Acadian Companies networking infrastructure to include routing, switching, transport (fiber and copper) media, wireless, LAN/WAN circuits.

  1. Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
  2. Investigate root cause of problems and escalate to engineering and vendor support as

necessary.

  1. Evaluate and monitor network performance.
  2. Maintain integrity of the network, server deployments, and security.
  3. Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with current technological best practices.
  4. Configure and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols
  5. Configure and troubleshoot AAA processes.
  6. Maintain appliances such as NAC, VPN gateways, NGFW, routers, switches, firewalls, and IP Telephony infrastructure.
  7. Monitor and troubleshoot Cradlepoints supporting various sites.
  8. Use automation tools to introduce efficiencies in our daily workload and status reporting
  9. Effectively collaborate with all other IT teams to complete high-level IT initiatives
  10. Manage problem and service tickets, ensuring timely resolution to meet Service Level

Agreements

  1. Follow established Enterprise change management procedures.
  2. Participate in Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery infrastructure planning, building,

and testing

  1. Must have the ability to understand and relate to new products, technology, and strategy and be able to follow directions
  2. Must communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders for project status, outages,

and other initiatives.

  1. Must be able to provide project management that includes planning, documentation, meetings, conference calls, and reporting.
  2. The ability to conduct training sessions to share knowledge with peers and other support

teams is necessary.

  1. Interpret business requirements into technical and/or functional documentation and solutions
  2. Must be available to work outside of regular business hours to fulfill production and
  3. project needs, provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis
  4. Some travel may be required.
  5. As a provider of essential services, Acadian expects its employees to be available to
  6. work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such

duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Network+ or commensurate experience required
  2. CCNA or commensurate experience required
  3. CCNP preferred
  4. 3-5 years of network experience preferred
  5. Experience with various technologies and applications
    1. SolarWinds
    2. Cradlepoint
    3. Aruba Wireless
    4. Cisco Switching, Routing, Wireless
    5. Cisco Security Products (Client, Umbrella,ASA/Firepower)
  6. Experience with building infrastructure cabling design, fiber, cat6, etc
  7. Experience with various routing protocols
    1. EIGRP
    2. BGP
    3. OSPF
  8. Strong understanding of DNS and DHCP
  9. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  10. Experience with Cisco Unified Communications platform
    1. CUCM
    2. UCCX
    3. Unity

Experience with various WAN and carrier technologies

  1. SD-WAN
  2. MPLS
  3. MetroE
  1. Local position with some remote/hybrid ability, occasional travel
