(NOT A SECURITY GUARD SOLICITATION) As an Access Control Installer, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining access control devices. Your role will involve working closely with and under the supervision of our qualified lead technicians and project managers. You will work in ceilings, pulling cable for systems, dropping cable in door frames for card reader, rex, door contact and lock devices. You will install cameras both inside and on exteriors of commercial buildings. You will install intercom and intrusion systems and devices. You must be comfortable working on A-frame and extension ladders as well as on aerial lifts occasionally. *Experience with these types of activities is required of any applicant.*

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and minimally configure systems including Access Control systems, IP Video and Intrusion Alarm Systems as well as other related low voltage equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of security equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with security systems in tandem with lead techs and engineering support.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to complete installations and projects according to specifications and timelines.
  • Understand your part in the larger scheme of the project and work to maintain pace and progress.
  • Maintain accurate documentation through our in house app, capturing progress photos and location specific install details.

Requirements:

  • 2 years minimum experience as a technician in the electronic security systems industry, with specific experience installing Access Control systems, IP Video and Intrusion Alarm Systems
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with various brands and models of security equipment and tools.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Covid 19 vaccination is required for many key account sites
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to communication and quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to send and receive emails and text messages for daily communications including dispatch
  • Be able to operate common installation tools such as drills, hammer drills, reciprocating saws.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in specific product lines or training in security systems installation or related field.
  • Experience with networked security systems and integration.
  • OSHA training
