PROJECT MANAGER/SCRUM MASTER

Our client is seeking a skilled Project Manager / Scrum Master with strong Agile/Scrum experience and a foundation in Waterfall methodologies. This is a long-term, remote opportunity for a highly adaptable, results-driven individual to contribute to a collaborative and evolving environment.

The Project Manager / Scrum Master will manage the full lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects, overseeing planning, risk assessment, execution, and completion. The ideal candidate will possess a technical project management background, demonstrating strong Agile/Scrum and Waterfall experience, and a proven ability to support cultural shifts and process evolution in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop, manage, and refine project plans, including timelines, risk/issue logs, test plans, and scope analysis.
  • Serve as a central point of contact between business stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and IT departments.
  • Oversee Agile ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Standups, Retrospectives) to optimize team collaboration and productivity.
  • Support Waterfall methodology where applicable while maintaining flexibility to adapt processes and project structures as needed.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, task prioritization, and user story refinement to align with project goals.
  • Drive effective communication of project progress, milestones, and deliverables to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Develop statistical data reports to measure project health and performance; analyze trends for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct project status meetings, resolve issues, and ensure clear communication of risks and mitigations to relevant parties.
  • Engage in training and mentorship, helping colleagues adapt to Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management practices.
  • Provide additional support to the organization’s quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least seven (7) years of related experience, including a minimum of three (3) years in project management, managed care, or insurance-related fields.
  • Project Management Expertise: Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies with practical experience in Waterfall project management.
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and custom application development.
  • Communication: Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with experience interacting with senior leadership.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in team settings.
  • Claims Experience: Knowledge of claims systems is a plus but not required.
