Job Description
Responsible for managing, maintenance, configuration, installation, upgrading, operations, and documentation of all assigned Windows and/or Linux Servers and server resources, Windows End-User Devices (Desktops, Laptops and Tablets) and Virtual Machines (Servers, VMWare ESXi VMs).
Specific duties may include:
- Deploy, modify, maintain, and troubleshoot end-user and computer rights and permissions.
- Install, upgrade, and optimize system components, software, and upgrades in compliance with Cyber Security and Digital, Information Technology, Analysis, Cyber (DITAC) Operation and Maintenance (O&M) requirements.
- Replace faulty system hardware components when necessary. Works closely with the users of Digital, Information Technology, Analysis, Cyber (DITAC) networks in order to identify potential issues and resolve existing problems.
- Develop, perform, maintain, test, and document regular backup operations. Implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Develop, modify, test, and implement disaster recovery operations.
- Analyze and monitor system capacity and performance; perform routine maintenance of systems. Identify and remediate system performance issues.
- Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues. Document issues and resolutions, prioritize tasks/issues, and assess and document the impact and root cause.
- Develop, update, and maintain DITAC s Lifecycle and O&M documentation (i.e., operating procedures, processes, and technical walkthroughs).
- Coordinate with ISSOs to ensure systems are in compliance with DITAC s Authorization to Operate (ATO) and Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) requirements. Perform and document regular security vulnerability scanning, patching, hardening, remediation and/or mitigation of systems to maintain compliance with Cyber Security (DISA STIGs, ACAS scans, etc.).
Required Experience/Knowledge:
- Experienced with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems.
- Able to communicate effectively to end-users and leadership; providing status and root cause as required.
- Able to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good with analytical and communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Required to operate in a team environment consisting of both internal and external members, co-workers, and customers who may work remotely and/or be located at separate geographical sites.
- Certifications to fulfill the Cyber Security Workforce Framework requirements per DoD 8570/8140. (Current Security Plus)
Desired Experience/Knowledge:
- Experienced with Red Hat Linux.
- Experience with creating, updating and maintaining scripts, automation tools and group policy (PowerShell, Tanium, HBSS, etc.).
- Knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services.
- Understanding of the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs.
