Description
We are in search of a Network Field Technician based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and minor repair of networking systems, including CAT6 and phone wiring, and fiber optics. You will be part of an industry that is advancing rapidly, and you will be working in an environment that values flexibility and adaptability. This is a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Perform installations of CAT6 cabling for network connectivity
Install and maintain phone wiring systems
Conduct minor fiber optic installations, terminations, and repairs
Assist in maintaining the GIS inventory of our fiber network
Ensure network connectivity and address cabling issues promptly
Inform customers about progress, changes, and any outages or incidents
Provide support to the Helpdesk team for customer-related wiring and cabling issues
Availability to work nights and weekends as required for installations and maintenance tasks
Utilize a provided fleet vehicle for travel during work hours
Conduct minor fiber optic installations, terminations, and repairs.
Requirements
Proficiency in broadband technologies and their application in a networking environment
Working knowledge of EO/IR systems and their practical usage
Solid understanding of networking principles, including routing, switching, and network troubleshooting
Familiarity with Outside Plant (OSP) design and operational standards
Experience with Patch Panel configuration and management
Proficiency in AB Testing methodologies and their application in a networking environment
Prior experience in cable installation, with a focus on Coax Cable
Skilled in cabling infrastructure design and installation, including cable routing and termination
Knowledge of Digital technologies and their application in a networking environment
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex network issues
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions
Willingness to travel to various locations to conduct network installations and repairs
Ability to adhere to safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
