Summary
The Business Analyst (BA) plays a critical role in the success of the Engineering team initiatives. The Business Analyst is actively engaged with the team by representing and advocating for client voices; ensuring that the features and products we deliver meet the diverse and competing needs of our clients and partners (internal and external); understanding and helping to resolve issues and mitigate shortcomings of systems in our platform. The BA is responsible for facilitating discussions between internal and external stakeholders and the Engineering team to ensure the full scope of requirements has been defined. The BA works with the business to achieve an overall technical understanding of the solution. The BA role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work interdependently with the team. A successful BA will effectively challenge the status quo to help propel the business in its strategy. The BA works closely with the Project Manager and Engineering Director.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Effectively facilitate team meetings
- Capture product requirements
- Identify and assist in resolution of underlying conflicts, competing priorities, and roadblocks for team members to reach a common goal
- Help design and continuously improve organizational procedures to ensure business runs smoothly as changes are made
- Speak directly with Stakeholders to gather product requirements and feedback
- Assist team with understanding customer needs to aid in designing technology-based solutions to meet business requirements
Preferred education and experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of related experience with eCommerce technology
- Client-facing communication
- Understanding of eCommerce platforms and what makes a solution successful in our industry
- Documenting product requirements with enough detail
- Performing requirements analysis through research and testing
- User Experience, User Testing, Wireframing, and mock-ups a plus
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (or equivalent experience) and 1 or more years of related experience in a combination of the following:
- Client-facing communication
- Managing resources in accordance with a project schedule
- Documenting functional requirements
- Performing requirements analysis through research and testing
- User Experience, User Testing, Wireframing, and mock-ups a plus
