WBNS-FM 97.1 The Fan, a TEGNA-owned sports radio station in Columbus, Ohio has an amazing opportunity for a creative, knowledgeable, and entertaining Sports Talk Show Host. We are looking for a host who excels at storytelling and audience engagement, has strong opinions, and knows how to plan and execute a multi-hour show.
Responsibilities

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.
Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.
TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.

Responsibilities
- Perform live broadcasts in studio and on remote locations, when necessary, that are entertaining and informative.
- Communicate with producers and program director to ensure program goals are met.
- Assist the show producer with strategies, story angles, and guest ideas.
- Research topics and stories.
- Maintain strong contacts and relationships with local sports brands.
- Prepare and research for broadcasts.
- Protect the station’s FCC license and rights holder commitments
- Making personal appearances at station events and remote broadcasts.
- Participate in Weekend Shows as assigned
- Regular and timely attendance to The Fan’s Columbus studios
- Other duties as assigned by Program Director/Operations Manager
- Minimum of two (2) years experience hosting a successful sports talk show or an equivalent such as a live Internet show or podcast.
- In-depth knowledge of local sports teams and players with contemporary sound and excellent on-air delivery.
- Knowledge of Columbus broadcast area and station demographics is essential.
- All candidates must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a broadcast team environment.
