The Interconnections Planning Engineer will perform the following functions: Perform interconnection studies on offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission and other new clean energy technology projects. Conduct substation power-flow and short circuit analyses. Contribute to analyses identifying local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations. Organize developer site visits to company’s facilities. Participate in internal engineering support activities; interface with NYISO and merchant developers. Identify new generation/transmission project impacts on bulk electric system; Develop recommended modifications to NYISO.

Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3 years work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.
Relevant Work Experience
- Knowledge of the design and /or operation of the electric power system. Required
- Competent in using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs. Required
