THE POSITION

The Juvenile Services Department is seeking our next transformational Community Supervision Manager to lead our dedicated Community Supervision team.

The Community Supervision Manager will provide leadership in the daily operations of the teams supervising youth in the community, ensuring divisional goals and objectives are met. This position will supervise and support staff working across our regional teams, the Substance Abuse team, including a Juvenile Drug Treatment Court, and our Breaking the Cycle team, which works with youth who have problematic sexual behaviors. This position also works closely with clinicians and other community and public safety partners to support safe and effect community supervision of youth.

The Community Supervision team works within the Juvenile Department buildings located in Hillsboro, Oregon. The Juvenile Services Department has core values of teamwork, excellence and integrity, and is driven by assessing and responding to risk and needs, engaging clients, engaging the communities of our clients, using data to guide decision-making, and staff development. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, working general business hours, Monday - Friday.

The Juvenile Services Department is responsible for the supervision of high-risk youth in the community, including youth on probation and those being diverted from the court system. Staff are responsible for maintaining court ordered conditions to protect public safety and work to restore victims. Juvenile Counselors support youth through the brokering of services, including connecting with behavioral health services, skill building to strengthen protective factors in the home and community as well as to mitigate risk factors, connect with school district staff to enhance the educational experience of youth, and support youth in developing positive prosocial behaviors and the skills to continue to be successful within the community. Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, social work, social science, corrections, psychology, or a related field; AND Four (4) years of professional work experience in program coordination and oversight within a juvenile justice-based environment. Two (2) years of this work experience must include the supervision or leading of staff providing this type of service.

  • Completion of a criminal history check in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules.

Steps Of The Process
