Key responsibilities for the MES Service Manager role include but are not limited to:

  • Lead a team of technicians and administrators in the delivery of MES services within the designated operational area.
  • Oversee scheduling and coordination of both workshop and onboard service activities, ensuring optimal efficiency and meeting customer demands.
  • Manage full cycle personnel operations, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure equipment, tools, and spares are available to service teams, avoiding interruptions in operations.
  • Plan manpower requirements based on customer demand, managing the budget and recommending appropriate staffing levels.
  • Implement continuous process improvements in collaboration with OEM partners, driving standardization and efficiency across the service footprint.
  • Support bids and tenders by providing operational input and performance feedback to sales teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining a safety-first culture.
  • Ensure the necessary equipment, tools and spares to conduct the service work are always available to the service teams, to avoid any interruption in the operations
  • Secure all necessary logistics arrangements to move equipment and personnel between vessels and service shops
  • Engage in customer demand review to align team capacity with changing needs and support strategic planning for overall service operations.

About You

Essential criteria:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in service operations, project management, planning, and resource allocation, preferably within the maritime industry.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and planning abilities, with a talent for managing diverse teams in a high-volume, technical environment.
  • Ability to handle complex information, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and databases for operational planning.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with various audiences and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work irregular hours and travel as required by customer schedules.
