Our Texas coastal development, ports, and transportation sector business is growing rapidly, and we are seeking a senior environmental planning project lead to help us deliver successful environmental compliance and planning projects. If you perform well in a collaborative and fast-paced environment working with other smart and ambitious planners, scientists, and engineers and enjoy managing complex and rewarding shoreline and water resources projects, this is the role for you. This opportunity includes the option for hybrid or full-time remote within the Houston, Corpus Christi, Austin, or San Antonio areas. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor s degree and 15+ years of experience in environmental planning. Skills include:

  • Managing and reviewing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation for public and private institutions, with an emphasis on waterfront and/or coastal infrastructure, ports, transportation, and energy (including renewables)
  • Developing environmental compliance strategies and preparing documents related to
    • Endangered Species Act
    • Clean Water Act, Section 404/Section 401
    • Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act
    • Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act
    • Coastal Zone Management Act
    • Section 10 Rivers and Harbors Act
    • Texas General Land Office Leases
    • Local Jurisdiction Approvals
  • Managing projects and programs, including overseeing multidisciplinary project teams, developing and managing scopes, detailed schedules, budgets, sub-consultants
  • Interfacing with private and local, state and federal agency clients, regulatory agency contacts, other consultants, and the public

Responsibilities for this Role:

Develop and implement comprehensive environmental compliance strategies; develop NEPA compliance documentation, including for complex or controversial projects and programs; oversee acquisition of regulatory permits and approvals; conduct agency negotiations; facilitate public meetings; and manage projects, including negotiating contracts, managing comprehensive project schedules, overseeing larger teams, and fostering client relationships.

What Are We Looking For?

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor s degree with 15+ years of relevant experience, preferably with consulting experience
  • Experienced in developing environmental documentation related to NEPA compliance and familiarity with related federal consultation processes (e.g., ESA, Section 106)
  • Experienced in managing projects, programs, and teams of people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:
