Job Description: Senior IT Project Manager
Location: Hybrid in Columbus, OH
Mode: Contract
Position Overview:
As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple complex projects with interdependencies in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You will excel in communication, organization, leadership, and project management, with a proactive attitude to ensure high-quality outcomes. You will collaborate closely with IT Application teams and Business functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage standard project deliverables, schedules, and budgets for technology projects sponsored by the business. Manage a portfolio of projects that may follow waterfall, agile, or hybrid methodologies.
- Scrum Master Duties: Depending on the project, you may be required to perform the scrum master role, facilitating sprints, stand-ups, and other agile practices.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to technical staff, stakeholders, and business executives. Present team recommendations to senior management and influence governance bodies through formal presentations.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule and lead recurring internal and client-facing meetings to review and monitor project goals and status.
- Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with business and technology leaders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Value Metrics Reporting: Collect and report value metrics to enable informed decision-making across enterprise projects and programs.
- Risk Management: Identify, track, escalate, and resolve project issues and risks. Monitor risk events to prevent them from becoming roadblocks.
- Continuous Learning: Quickly learn and apply new technical concepts to resolve issues in a rapidly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s degree required.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience managing projects within a technology organization, with experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication, detail orientation, strong organization, leadership, and project management skills. A positive attitude with the ability to proactively take the initiative to 'Get Stuff Done' with high quality.
- Communication: Ability to tailor communication to various organizational levels, particularly when presenting project updates to executive management.
- Project Delivery: Proven track record of managing project deliverables, resources, schedules, budgets, risks, and issues, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Other Qualifications and Experience:
- Problem-Solving: Ability to understand people and technologies, asking the right questions to guide problem-solving even without deep subject matter expertise.
- Team Collaboration: Experience working independently and in cross-functional, team-oriented environments is essential.
- Facilitation Skills: Must be able to facilitate discussions and explore alternative approaches or solutions.
