Job Description
Garyline LLC is seeking a skilled Tooling Engineer and Mold Designer to join our team, responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-quality tooling and molds to support production processes. This role includes managing the existing tool shop, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the maintenance and efficiency of all tooling. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and an understanding of manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvements in mold performance and durability.
Key Responsibilities:- Mold Design & Modification: Design new molds and update existing ones to enhance performance and align with production requirements, considering material properties and product specifications.
- Tooling Development: Develop, improve, and maintain tooling solutions that support efficient, high-quality production, focusing on setup time reduction, material optimization, and maintenance needs.
- Tool Shop Management: Oversee daily operations of the tool shop, including scheduling, maintenance, and inventory management, to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable tooling operations.
- 3D Modeling & CAD: Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) to develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings for molds and tooling.
- Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for molds based on durability, cost-effectiveness, and production requirements.
- Process Optimization & Troubleshooting: Work with manufacturing teams to resolve mold and tooling issues, recommending and implementing adjustments to improve performance.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of designs, modifications, test results, and maintenance procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality checks to ensure all molds meet Garyline LLC standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Partner with production, product design, and quality assurance teams to ensure mold designs align with company and customer standards.
Education: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years in mold design and tooling engineering within a manufacturing environment, ideally with experience in injection or blow molding, and at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of material science and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CAM software and CNC machining is a plus.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing tool shop operations, including team supervision, scheduling, and resource management.
Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and safety regulations.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities for resolving design and production issues.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring all designs meet precise specifications.
