Purpose (General description and summary)
Coordinates various functions of the Human Resources Department encompassing but not limited to on-boarding, teaching, management training, HR investigations, and employee relations. Works as a team member with and supports the Human Resources Director. Is available and flexible to meet the requirements of the job. This position is essential to daily agency operations.
Accountabilities (Responsibilities Of The Job)
Minimum of two years in an HR Generalist role with experience in full cycle recruiting, employee relations, and employment law is strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal skills required. Must be able to type by touch, compose business correspondence, and have a strong knowledge of word processing systems. Ability to use a computer and other office technology, and learn new computer applications. Incumbent must have the ability to work with all levels of employees within the organization.
Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration:
A valid driver’s license and insurance. A Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or 2 or more years work experience.

Accountabilities (Responsibilities Of The Job)
- Supports leading and facilitates onboarding sessions, ensuring new hires are well-integrated and informed
- Assists in conducting thorough HR investigations in line with organizational policies and equity committments
- Plans and schedules management training sessions
- Develops and prepares training materials for management programs
- Organizes and delivers management training seminars to foster leadership skills
- Serves as the initial contact for employee relations concerns, addressing issues promptly and effectively
- Takes appropriate disciplinary actions for policy and regulation violations
- Processes check pickups for employees
- Regularly updates agency forms and job descriptions to maintain accuracy and compliance
- Assists in audit preparations to support compliance and best practices
- Attends professional seminars to stay current on employment laws, HR trends, and recruitment practices
- Provides timely responses to internal and external inquiries via phone and email
- Drafts letters and other correspondence as needed for the VP of Equity Culture and Talent and HR Director
- Completes assignments and projects as requested by the VP of Equity Culture and Talent and HR Director
- Promotes employee recognition and collaborates with development on engagement initiatives and events
- Manages responses to unemployment claims
- Assists in processing leave requests, including PLO, FMLA, and OFLA
- Supports the accommodation process for ADA requests
- Coordinates with SAIF on workers’ compensation claims
