  1. Make sure the webpage is open.

  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Job Title: Research Associate II

Location: South San Francisco, CA 94080

Duration: 06 Months (possibility of extension)

Pay Rate Starts from $55/hr on W2

Description:

  • The Research Associate will play a critical role in sample creation and preparation.
  • These samples include plasmid preparation, cloning, RNA/DNA extraction from tissues, ddPCR, NGS library preparation.
  • The Associate will also employ the methods for routine analysis of study samples. As a key member of the Vector Bioscience team, you will be contributing directly to these activities as hands-on experimenter and by analysis and interpretation of the data.
  • The position will be located in our laboratory facilities in South San Francisco, CA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Amplification of plasmid DNA, cloning, extraction and preparation of nucleic acid samples from a variety of biological specimens, including tissues and biological fluids.
  • Quantification of DNA and RNA in biological samples using ddPCR.
  • Contemporaneous and error-free documentation of assay execution and results in electronic lab notebooks and organized electronic folders.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned time-to-time.

Must Have Required:

  • Research Associate II: Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or a related discipline with 2-5+ years’ experience or a Master’s degree with 1-2+ years’ experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in molecular biology techniques, such as isolation and quantification of nucleic acids, cDNA synthesis, cloning, DNA sequencing, ddPCR.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Prior success working flexibly in a cross-functional team environment.
