Salary: $3,300 - $3,500 per month

The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is hiring a Administrative Assistant, this position supports the Business, Marketing, and Information Division.

As an Administrative Assistant, you will be the initial point of contact, greeting and assisting visitors and managing phone calls. You will provide general administrative support to the department. If you are organized, communicative, and enjoy helping others, this role is a great fit for you!

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Provide front desk administrative support, including greeting visitors, answering and routing phone calls, handling daily deposits, processing incoming mail, ordering office supplies.
  • Responsible for overseeing the department's records retention and forms management programs.
  • Offer administrative support to division programs such as the Agricultural Products Utilization Commission, Agriculture Diversification and Development Fund, Specialty Crop Program, and Pride of Dakota.
  • Assist with the Pride of Dakota holiday showcases and various departmental events.
  • Provide support to the Animal Health Division, including data entry of certificates of veterinary inspection and regulatory documents.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field with one year of relevant experience, or
  • High School diploma (or GED) with three years of relevant experience.
  • Must demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in processing mail
  • Background in customer service
  • Experience in completing daily deposits
  • Work experience in state government
