Director of Supply Chain

SMV Recruiting, LLC is actively looking for a Director of Supply Chain to work for our client in Vernon, CA. Our is a heavy metal manufacturer who needs a strong leader experienced in understanding what good looks like and building high performing teams from the ground up. This person must have experience implementing systems, leading transportation and distribution teams, managing budgeting and forecasts and establishing SOP’s and KPI’s. This role is highly visible and provides the autonomy needed to build a strong team while giving you the opportunity to have a huge impact on the growth and strategy our client.

Responsibilities:

• Set up a Supply Chain team from scratch including developing SOP’s, KPI's, best practices, etc.
• Create a material requirements plan (MRP) and establish material replenishments best practices in an MRP system
• Own shipping, logistics (in-house), and transportation departments, including setting up a distribution center
• Create the S&OP supply plan
• Gather and review demand, inventory and production data
• Generate the rough-cut capacity plan
• Optimize throughput of production assets using optimization models
• Supervise the Inventory Planning and Control Manager to implement inventory strategies to accommodate production, purchasing and storage capacity constraints

Requirements:

• Bachelors in Supply Chain, Logistics or similar, Masters in Supply Chain preferred
• Must know what good looks like, have built high performing teams while having a very strong CI focus
• 15-20+ years of experience of related experience
• Must have managed a budget of at least $150M
• Must have extensive system implementation experience, including establishing an MRP system
• Experience present to executive leadership and the board of director’s
• Ideally would like someone who has worked their way up from the plant floor, ideally in a made to order for a heavy metal manufacture
• Demonstrated experience implementing best practice processes throughout the fully integrated sales and operations planning process
• Experience implementing KPIs for the S&OP
• Must be decisive without having perfect information
