Job Description
The Licensing & Permitting Manager will oversee all radioactive material licenses, performance assessment efforts, RCRA Permits, and any amendments or modifications to them, and assists with all other regulatory matters associated with license and permits. This position is the primary interface and contact for the Texas Low Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Compact Commission regarding all Import and Export Applications as well as all reporting or coordination for Commission meetings. Assures all license and permit reporting, systems, and documentation comply with the license and permit regulatory requirements.
***Must be able to travel 40% of the time.
Technical Experience
- Must have demonstrated experience to solve complex regulatory issues. Experience in licensing and permitting, and/or operations involving the storage of Spent Nuclear Fuel are highly desired.
- A comprehensive understanding and experience in assessing the public health and environmental impacts associated with disposal of Low-Level Radioactive Waste and storage of SNF is also highly desirable.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises employees in the Licensing and Permitting Department consisting of compliance specialists.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Education and/or Experience B.S. Degree in a Science, Engineering or an appropriate related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience in the nuclear industry, waste disposal, and/or in a regulatory oversight role.
