Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead and inspire the data engineering team, engage with the business and identify new functionality, develop compelling business cases, prioritize projects, and develop plans that maximize return on investment for the company.
Develop and lead a collaborative and Agile software development approach delivering high velocity, with ROI in quarters while maintaining a strong focus on solution configurability, quality, and scalability.
Identify emerging technology trends, especially in SaaS solutions, cloud computing, automation and DevOps and ensure the company is leveraging them when appropriate to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive value.
Be an execution leader driving business outcome with a combination of inhouse team and outsourced services, both onshore and offshore.
Be a thought leader and define solutions for Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).
Collaborate with the BI and Data Science team to deliver business intelligence and analytics capability supported by Enterprise Data Platform.
Represent EDP team and collaborate with other IT teams for resource planning, project planning, prioritization activities.
Provide Technical and Quality governance of deliverables from the team.
Collaborate with other leaders to drive Data as a discipline and mature the organization to a data driven decisioning org.
Define and maintain best practices and framework related to EDP in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture.
Foster a culture of transparency and a sense of purpose among the team, challenging old paradigms while creating clear accountabilities and performance metrics.
Experience and Qualifications of the Role
12 to 15 years of experience in software development and majority in Data domain.
3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and building high-performing teams, allocating and managing resources and setting/managing performance goals. This includes direct people management experience with a track record of consistently recognizing and rewarding excellent performance and addressing performance issues head-on, without delay.
Strong experience in managing data engineering teams.
Demonstrate experience in managing and delivering data warehouse solutions using Snowflake.
Has strong experience in designing data platform solutions using DBT, Airbyte, Snowflake, AWS.
Has experience in building BI/ Analytics solutions; Is able to demonstrate capabilities in Data Analysis.
Has experience in delivering large data migration projects which includes data ingestion, data modeling, data transformation and data consumption.
Hands-on experience with a variety of technologies from cloud infrastructure to systems development to cloud architecture and SaaS. Must be able to dive deep with the team and guide the work to ensure a proper delivery of needed outcomes.
Able to attract, develop and retain talent and build high performing application development teams.
Ability to foster a culture of transparency and a sense of purpose among the team, challenging old paradigms while creating clear accountabilities and performance metrics.
Able to communicate technical or complex subject matter in business terms.
Computer Skills Needed to Perform the Job
Proficiency in Snowflake
Proficiency in Airbyte, DBT, Prefect
Proficiency in AWS services viz. Lambda, S3 etc.
Proficiency in Building Data Warehouse solutions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
Certification in Snowflake (Required)
Certification in AWS cloud tools (preferred)
