As a US-based warranty provider, we provide expertise in safety and homecare to our customers. Our integrated solutions meet customer needs both inside and outside the home. Inside the home, we safeguard essential systems like plumbing, heating and cooling, appliances, power surge protection, hot water heaters, and interior electrical components. Outside the home, we ensure the protection of vital lines, including water, gas, wells, sewers, electric, and septic systems. We primarily go to market B2B2C, partnering mostly with water/gas/electric utilities and municipalities to offer our product leveraging their brand for marketing and often adding our subscription fee to the water/gas/electric bill itself. Located at our office in Naperville our office environment is a key driver of our company culture and employee experience, so a regular in-office hybrid model is required (generally in-office T-TH and remote M & F).
Position Summary:
As a Sr. Cloud Data Engineer, you will be part of the Data engineering team managing the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) for Oncourse. You will be responsible for development tasks within our technology stack consisting of Snowflake, DBT, Airbyte, and Prefect. Also, you will be part of design meetings and provide guidance for data migration projects from external vendors.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Develop cloud-first data ingestion processes using Python, SQL, Airbyte, S3 buckets, etc into Snowflake.
- Develop and Maintain DBT flows utilizing DBT Core self-managed.
- Assist with design tasks for data models and infrastructure within a wide variety of markets and alternative datasets.
- Support alerting systems to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Author tests to validate data quality and the stability of the platform.
- Investigate and defuse time-sensitive data incidents.
- Assist with the maintenance of existing data stores after migration.
- Collaborate with BI and Data Science team to consume data from EDP to generate analytics and BI reports.
- Collaboration amongst teammates to clearly define and estimate work for user stories.
We're Excited if this is You
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or relevant experience)
- 5+ years of experience in IT and majority in Data domain
- Majority of experience as a snowflake/cloud data engineer
- Demonstrate experience in developing data warehouse solutions using Snowflake
- Has strong experience in Python, DBT, Airbyte, Snowflake, AWS (Prefect/MWAA nice to have)
- Has a passion for data analysis and is able to think analytically.
- Has implemented code versioning standards and been part of code review meetings
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Certification in Snowflake (Required)
- Certification in AWS cloud tools, Data Engineering, OR DBT (preferred)
Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job
- Proficiency in Snowflake
- Proficiency in Airbyte, DBT, Prefect
- Proficiency in AWS services viz. Lambda, S3 etc.
