Boiler Controls Technician/ Mechanical Electrical Technician
Job Summary:
The Boiler Controls Technician will be responsible for wiring, troubleshooting, testing and tuning boilers in the field. This position also requires some mechanical work across a variety of systems such as pumps, valves and piping.
Your Responsibilities:
Approximately 40% travel required; not a local or shop position.
Have knowledge of PLC s, transformers, transmitters, and other controls.
Wire all controls, sensors, and motors for watertube and firetube boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Build and test control panels and systems using engineering wiring schematics and drawings.
Perform start-up of boilers in field.
Read blueprints and wiring schematics.
Maintain condition and inventory of all tools and assigned parts.
Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, and judgment to achieve required results.
Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
1-2 years experience with electrical and control systems
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to read and work from blueprints and schematics
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
Must have a broad knowledge of controls
Mechanical and electrical background a must
Must have the ability and knowledge to trouble shoot systems with no schematic
Basic level PLC familiarity.
Current valid drivers license.
