About the Role:
We re looking for our first sales hire at Captions to close deals and build out our sales function. As the first dedicated sales team member, you ll have a unique opportunity to shape our sales processes and build strong, long-term relationships with our customers. The right person for this role will have a proven track record and be ready to hit the ground running to drive revenue growth through both inbound and outbound efforts. This role will have the opportunity to directly influence the culture and performance of a fast-paced AI startup in NYC and will report directly to the Co-founder and COO.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Captions growth by closing inbound and outbound deals, taking ownership of the entire sales cycle from lead qualification to contract.
Use strategic outreach to develop and expand our pipeline at the top-of-funnel, and be relentless in pursuing inbound and upsell opportunities.
Build and constantly optimize our sales operations and processes. Take ownership and be ready to create and advocate for whatever you need to close deals, whether it be materials, software tools, conferences, or features.
Nurture strong, long-term customer relationships, working closely with our Customer Success Manager (CSM) to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing engagement.
Collaborate with Product and leadership teams to align our offerings with customer needs, driving solutions that resonate with customers.
Continuously explore innovative strategies to accelerate revenue growth and enhance operational efficiency.
Provide clear, actionable insights on sales performance, challenges, and opportunities to internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
4+ years of sales experience at a fast-paced technology business.
Proven track record of successfully driving inbound and outbound sales initiatives, closing deals, and managing customer relationships.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
Ability to set up sales processes with little guidance and to develop a strong point of view on who our customers are and how we should grow our business.
Experience in analyzing data and metrics to uncover sales opportunities, identify trends, and drive strategic, data-informed decision-making.
Strong strategic mindset, continuously looking for innovative ways to drive revenue growth and optimize sales processes.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a scrappy, entrepreneurial setting, with a low ego and hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Compensation Range: $150K - $220K
