Initially, this individual should be comfortable working onsite once per week in Reston, VA. Once settled in, this individual can work remotely with in-person events roughly once per quarter.

Overview & Responsibilities

The Managed File Transfer (MFT) Support Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and supporting file transfer processes using Axway Managed File Transfer (MFT) systems. This role involves monitoring and troubleshooting file transfers to ensure successful and secure data exchanges, particularly for healthcare plan clients. The candidate will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to manage file transfer workflows, monitor file movements, and provide timely issue resolution. The role requires onsite presence once a week until the resource is fully up to speed, after which the role will be primarily remote. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily monitoring and maintenance of Axway MFT systems to ensure files are securely and successfully transferred.

Engage with clients in the healthcare sector to understand transfer requirements and resolve any transfer-related issues.

Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues related to file transfers, network connectivity, and firewall configurations.

Collaborate with IT teams to manage and configure firewall rules and maintain secure file transfer protocols.

Document transfer processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions to optimize efficiency and security.

Maintain high standards of security and compliance, especially when handling sensitive client data.

Provide customer support, handle inquiries related to file transfers, and escalate complex issues as needed.

Work within change management protocols to ensure all modifications to MFT processes are reviewed and documented.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience with file transfer protocols and systems, including specific experience with Axway Managed File Transfer (MFT).

Strong knowledge of Managed File Transfer operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Proficiency in firewall configuration and network analysis, with a focus on understanding secure data transfers.

Familiarity with network protocols and security measures relevant to data transfer.

Experience working with external customers, especially in healthcare or other regulated industries.

Strong communication skills for client interaction and problem-solving.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Background in healthcare or experience working with healthcare plan data.

Experience with compliance and regulatory standards for data security, such as HIPAA.

Understanding of scripting or automation tools for streamlining file transfer processes.

Certifications in networking or cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)).

Familiarity with change management practices and experience in cross-functional collaboration.
