Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in computer vision techniques, specifically in object detection, recognition, and object tracking. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including AI leads, ML engineers, and product owners, to develop cutting-edge solutions that impact millions of lives worldwide. The Senior Computer Vision Scientist will directly report to the Head of AI.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize computer vision algorithms for image and video processing targeting object detection, recognition, and tracking.
• Algorithm optimization for implementation on server and/or embedded systems with constraints, such as limited memory, integer math, tight power budgets.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning to incorporate best practices and novel approaches.
• Work with the broader team to understand the objectives of the project, translate concept/solution ideas in PoCs, and products.
• Capable of understanding the trade-offs between performance, efficiency and meeting requirements while selecting image processing methodology.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to drive product development.
• Mentor junior team members and act as a technical lead for one or multiple projects.
• Develop testing procedures, programming, and documentation. Debug software. Connect with KOLs and vendors to drive progress.
• Capable of translating complex topics to simple presentations for the broader team.
  

Qualifications:

• Ph. D degree with at least 2 years or a MSc degree with at least 4 years of applied research experience.
• 4+ years of experience in developing computer vision algorithms.
• Extensive programming experience in Python, C++ and/or Java.
• Deep knowledge of computer vision and machine learning/deep learning algorithms and architectures. Including: YOLO, CNN, etc.
• Proficiency in using Computer Vision libraries (OpenCV) and Deep Learning frameworks (Tensorflow or Pytorch).
• Experience with cloud services such as Azure or AWS.
• Strong communication and data presentation skills.
