Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Lead Engineer to drive automation using Ansible and enhance our DevOps and CI/CD pipelines. In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping the platform architecture, optimizing compute and storage services, and providing technical leadership across multiple teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for automation, cloud platforms, and infrastructure optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Define and refine the platform architecture, ensuring both functional and non-functional requirements for compute and storage services are met.
- Collaborate with architects, senior engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate modern technologies and drive forward-looking architectural strategies.
- Design and implement frameworks for DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, offering technical expertise to development, operations, and site reliability teams.
- Lead technical innovation by driving the engineering discipline around CI/CD pipelines and automation.
- Ensure secure coding practices, focusing on security, secrets management, and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop, test, and document programs using Agile methodologies, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Deepen expertise in SRE practices such as observability, automation, reliability, resiliency, scalability, and configuration management.
- Mentor team members and help build DevOps capabilities, guiding them through a DevOps maturity model.
- Establish standards and best practices for engineering large-scale, cross-organizational technology solutions.
- Work closely with peers and management to review design and implementation approaches, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Stay current with new technologies and products, exploring ways to leverage existing capabilities for enhanced outcomes.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with a proven track record in automation and cloud solutions.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Cloud Management Platforms like VMware Aria Suite (vRA, vRO, vROPs, vRLI, vRSLCM, vIDM).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, or PowerShell (4+ years).
- Strong experience in programming languages like Java, C#, or GoLang (4+ years).
- Solid experience (2+ years) in infrastructure automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Packer.
- Familiarity with GitHub, Jenkins, and integrations (2+ years).
- Experience in leading complex application solution design and mentoring engineering teams (2+ years).
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices for infrastructure management, data protection, and cybersecurity.
- Experience managing platforms like RedHat, Windows, Virtualization, and Data Protection solutions.
- Expertise in business process engineering, optimization, and orchestration.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and enabling risk management solutions for recovery and resilience.
