Job Title: VMWare Specialist
Location: Pittsburgh or Cleveland area (Hybrid)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm (Flexible start between 7-9 am)
Duration: 1 Year Assignment (~Potential for Extension or Contract-to-Hire)

We are seeking a proficient VMWare Specialist to join a high-impact infrastructure team that builds and supports the service infrastructure for enterprise-wide applications. This role involves designing, recommending, and facilitating infrastructure solutions that empower pneumonic teams across the banking organization, focusing on risk mitigation and infrastructure scalability. With a collaborative work environment and high-priority responsibilities, candidates with banking or large enterprise experience will thrive in this role.
This role emphasizes strategic infrastructure planning and solution delivery, with minimal direct server administration. You will focus on orchestrating infrastructure builds, ensuring a smooth handoff to the pneumonic teams for ongoing use and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and deliver infrastructure solutions across multiple Lines of Business (LOB) projects, including server sizing, hosting location recommendations, and efficient provisioning of compute capacity.
- Leverage expertise in administering both Windows and Linux servers, utilizing VMWare Tools to ensure optimal configuration and performance standards.
- Coordinate and prioritize infrastructure deliverables to align with strategic programs, ensuring seamless integration into existing infrastructure.
- Actively participate in project meetings, tracking delivery milestones and generating consistent status reports.
Linux, Confluence, Jira, and ServiceNow Responsibilities:
- Perform Linux server administration, configuration, and troubleshooting within the VMWare environment to optimize resource allocation and stability.
- Utilize Jira for project tracking and progress documentation, ensuring clear communication and task management across teams.
- Document and manage infrastructure processes, standards, and updates within Confluence to maintain a well-documented, consistent knowledge base.
- Use ServiceNow for incident management, change tracking, and workflow automation, ensuring effective response to requests and seamless infrastructure support.
Preferred Skills:
- In-depth experience with server provisioning and capacity planning, with the ability to assess infrastructure standards and enforce best practices.
- Familiarity with YAML for automated infrastructure scripting, as well as proficiency in Confluence, Jira, and ServiceNow.
- Solid understanding of non-Oracle and non-SQL database platforms to support diverse application needs.
Educational Requirements:
- VMWare certification preferred.
- Bachelors Degree in IT preferred, or 5 years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree.
