Description:
The senior firewall Engineer is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support of the Checkpoint firewalls. Utilizing their extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, the individual in this position will take on responsibilities in areas of administration, engineering, architecture, monitoring, and troubleshooting of firewalls, security policy, NAT (SNAT/DNAT, etc), rulesets, VPN, DNS and DHCP, and work collaboratively with IT team members on technology project implementations. Hands on experience with Checkpoint firewalls and Maestro Orchestrator is mandatory. The individual will develop and maintain documentation, configuration change plans, network topology diagrams, rack elevation, data flows, and variables. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support, consisting of technical and problem resolution support, along with maintenance of the Checkpoint firewalls.

1. Designs, deploys, maintains, optimizes, and troubleshoots enterprise-class Checkpoint firewalls 2. Plans and executes Checkpoint firewall configuration changes; must have significant hands-on experience with the Checkpoint firewall command line, Smart console and Maestro Orchestrator. 3. Provides technical and problem-resolution support related to hardware and software 4. Supports the existing infrastructure and assists in designing and deploying firewall configuration optimization supporting business and technical initiatives. 5. Utilizes Checkpoint firewall monitoring and management tools to evaluate the status of the environment daily, performs capacity planning, network analysis, and optimization 6. Develop and maintain comprehensive and timely documentation, including addressing plans, network topology diagrams, rack elevations, data flows, and other technical documentation. 7. Experience with BGP routing is a plus.
