This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and implementing complex large-scale projects to meet organizational goals. This person will maintain the efficiency of important aspects of the project management process such as planning, budget, and risk assessment. The ideal candidate is required to have excellent project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision to implementation involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors.

Location: This position is remote
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end automation projects, including scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery within defined timelines and budgets.
- Manage technical, cost, and schedule of assigned tasks or functions.
- Provide strong, proactive, and assertive leadership skills that engage multidiscipline work teams to respond to business needs for assigned projects
- Lead project team members such as executives, line of business subject matter experts, controllers, and schedulers through the lifecycle of a project
- Support the Automation program with training, mentoring and instructional guides to support the automation staff with procedures, best practices, and risk reduction practice
- Provide requirement analysis, application interaction analysis, system integration testing support, automation monitoring and logging support
- Create project management plans, set expectations, execute governance reviews and ensure the project plans are driven by organizational procedures
- Coordinates with cross-functional project stakeholders to develop project scope, objectives, goals, and deliverables
- Ensures that requirements are gathered, documented, reviewed and approved per organizational/PMO standards.
- Work with assigned scheduler to create a work breakdown structure that defines all activities required for the project deliverables
- Manage project budget, maintain financial plan, track actuals vs. plan, provide monthly forecasts, report monthly accruals
- Establish and provide high-quality, informative written and verbal project communications, including weekly status, dashboards, and project updates
- Actively monitor, track, and manage project tasks, timelines, attainment of established milestones and overall quality of project activities and deliverables
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or similar degree. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 6+ years of strong Project Management experience
- Previous experience with automation projects required
- In depth Project Management Experience handling Project Financials, Schedules, Scope, Testing with strong communication / Presentation Skills
- Solid understanding of Project Management and Project Management Office
- Ability to build and maintain relationships, partnerships, and external networks
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and work effectively in a collaborative team environment while keeping the team informed
- Excellent customer facing skills
- Excellent researching, decision-making and organizational skills are required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project or similar project management tool
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and other guidelines where appropriate.
Preferred Experience:
- Utility experience preferred
- Smartsheet experience is a plus
- PMP preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinates all activities for a major project and is directly responsible for project completion. Responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project, and quality assurance. Interacts with team to develop project plans and prototypes. Works with commercial off the shelf and solutions involving client/server technology. SCOPE: Responsible for coordinating all activities of a major IT-related project and directly responsible for project completion. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Complex choices of action which require considerable logic, knowledge and understanding in order to analyze a problem or situation, identify contributing factors, and select an optimal course of action. IMPACT: Erroneous decisions may result in delays and have financial impact to the organization. LIAISON: Regularly interacts with customer and/or functional per group managers. May interact with senior management. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. FREEDOM TO ACT: - LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: Provides focus to subordinates directed by established policies and procedures. Interprets, implements and administers policies that typically affect individual employees of a sub-unit. Provides administration supervision in addition to technical supervision. Performs full range of managerial duties for employees supervised, including recruitment, salary administration, performance reviews, counseling, and employee development. Responsible for maintaining good customer relations to explain technical trade-off to manages and customers who may not have the technical expertise to perform the analysis themselves. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Reads, writes, interprets and explains technical and/or complex information and possesses communication skills necessary to effectively motivate, teach and lead co-workers and staff. Knowledge of Statistics. Applications programming in conjunction with software engineering methodology; computerized project management software such as MS-Project and PeopleSoft; strong client/server knowledge; system development; database programming; application development, preferably using World Wide Web technology to build web-based applications that combine databases, SQL and web front-ends. TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 8+ years related experience in the computer programming field or other qualifying credentials and experience.
