Title: Production Engineer (On-site)

Client: Energy Oil & Gas Company

Location: Houston, Texas

Type: Contract (On-site Houston Energy Corridor)

Pay: $75-80/hour

Summary:

  • Must be local Houston, Texas based candidate, US Citizen, US Resident and/or Green Card holder.
  • Versed in business support and operational experience in managing, manipulating, and merging large datasets which feed surveillance tools and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain existing and new surveillance data sets and tools necessary to perform optimization workflows for all production and injection well types.
  • Build, maintain, and tune nodal analysis models to ensure each well s performance is optimized within network constraints and design.
  • Collaborate, learn, and train engineering operation s team on Surveillance and Optimization tools, datasets, and workflows.
  • Build dashboard surveillance data view of production and injection rates to identify performance improvement opportunities in PowerPoint Excel spreadsheets with graphs, and charts.
  • Work directly with Operations, Workover Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Facilities, Land, Geoscience, and Planning to deliver SAFE, reliable, and cost-efficient reactive well repair and proactive optimization projects.
  • Evaluate data analysis of well repair options, enhancement opportunities, associated costs, likelihood of success, and expected production to determine economic value required to justify expenditures.
  • Work with Operations & Facilities Teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend cost reduction, reliability, and/or debottlenecking projects (rate adding projects).
  • Identify high failure frequency wells (fail more than twice in the past 12 months) and proactively do whatever work is required to extend runtime.
  • Design, install, troubleshoot, and optimize operation of Rod Lift, ESP, Gas Lift, and/or Plunger Lift artificial lift systems for new and existing wells
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on all artificial lift types and recommend solutions to increase runtime between failures to decrease lease operating expense and increase production.
  • Work with Land and Operations Teams to ensure acreage is maintained within LOA and all necessary work is done in a timely manner to prevent any leasehold from being compromised
  • Provide economic justification for any automation necessary to perform production and injection surveillance at the well, lease, field, and asset level
  • Ensure wellbore integrity and perform risk management assessments on any operated offset well due to frac hits or any other SimOps situation.
  • Engage partners as applicable and provide input to partner reviews, and prepare data status reports in Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Work with Reservoir Engineering and Geoscience Teams to identify rate adding opportunities (e.g. add perfs, water shut-offs, plugbacks, frac potential, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Must be local Houston, Texas based candidate, US Citizen, US Resident and/or Green Card holder.
  • 5+ years experience working for operator upstream O&G energy companies, in production engineering and production operations.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications such as MS Project, PowerBI, PowerPoint, Excel, graphs charts and Pivot tables.
  • Versed in E&P operational applications such as Wellview, Cygnet, Spotfire, OFM, Foresite, Wellflo, Prosper, Rodstar, ESP surveillance tools.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
