The Role:

ExistX is seeking a Program Manager to lead a mission critical program transitioning cutting edge research into operational environments. In this role, you will manage a growing program, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful delivery of mission-critical software solutions. You'll collaborate with leadership, government clients, partners, and domain experts to drive strategic direction, maintain documentation and delivery schedules, manage resources, and ensure program objectives align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of the software engineering and development program
• Manage and build project documentation, coordinating resources, timelines, and deliverables
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement modern software and systems engineering best practices
• Lead strategic planning for transitioning developed capabilities to operational impact
• Identify, assess, and mitigate program-level risks
• Manage program budget and financial performance
• Create and maintain program documentation and status reports

Key Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in technical program management, preferably in software development
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and software development lifecycles
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex technical government programs
• Demonstrated success with strategic technical planning
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and technical domains
• Experience in transitioning capabilities from development to operational
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience building and leading a portfolio of projects or project accounts

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior management consulting experience
• Prior experience leading research projects
• Experience with both software and hardware engineering environments
• Familiarity with agile and traditional project management methodologies
• Background in consulting or client-facing roles
• Experience with government contracting processes

Location

This position will require onsite presence 4 days a week at client locations in and around Annapolis Junction and Odenton, Maryland area.
