Location: Newark, NJ
The Senior Project Manager has primary responsibility for planning, organizing, managing, and controlling complex projects across information technology. The Senior Project Manager will partner, collaborate and communicate with sponsors, stakeholders, and project team to ensure efficient project delivery. They have the authority to run projects on a day-to-day basis and delegate tasks to individual project team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Motivates project team to deliver projects on-time and on-budget
- Delegates work and assignments to project team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraint
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Leads project team to define scope, capture business requirements, and create project schedule(s)
- Identifies project staffing (resource) needs
- Host regularly scheduled project meetings with project team members and stakeholders
- Ensure availability of funding and resources required to complete assigned project(s) successfully
- Provides status reports to project stakeholders on a regular cadence
- Acts as a primary liaison between sponsor, stakeholders, team members, and vendors
- Plans, tracks and manages activities and milestones throughout the project lifecycle
- Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to stakeholders; provides recommendations for risk responses
- Manages risks and issues to ensure minimal impact to delivery
- Communicates and collaborates with business partners to ensure appropriate training
- Applies 'best practice' methodology and enforces project standards
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 7-10 years experience leading large, complex projects
- Demonstrated experience forming, organizing, and leading project teams from initiation to implementation
- Experience with Planview or other PPM Tools (Clarity, HP PPM, etc. )
- Exceptional collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and issue resolution skills
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong experience in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
