We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to support our clients large unionized workforce in a permanent capacity. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of all aspects of labor relations, HR best practices, labor laws, and contract administration and be comfortable engaging in collective bargaining.

Details:

This role is crucial in ensuring positive relations between management and employees, as well as guiding HR-related functions. The HR Manager will steer the Human Resources team to effectively address HR requirements, while maintaining productivity and morale in a unionized environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Managing and leading the HR team effectively in a unionized environment.
  • Negotiating and overseeing union contracts, active engagement in collective bargaining.
  • Resolving any grievances, ensuring professional and respectful communication throughout.
  • Enhancing employee relations proactively and sensitively addressing and resolving concerns.
  • Overseeing the management of employee performance, benefits, and payroll.
  • Creating and implementing HR policies and procedures, ensuring all HR activities are regulatory compliant.
  • Playing a vital role in the recruitment and onboarding process, coordinating with recruitment team, conducting interviews, and orientation of new employees.
  • Overseeing HRIS systems management, integrity checks, creating reports for management, and using system effectively.
  • Handling multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing as required, ensuring timely and successful delivery.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in HR functions within a unionized environment.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills: presenting arguments professionally.
  • Expertise in HRIS systems management, analysis, reporting, and data security.
  • Excellent multi-tasking ability: handling multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
