We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our client's team in Greenwood. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in keeping the material handling equipment running smoothly, focusing on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and electrical repairs. This position will involve close collaboration with team members to ensure equipment is set up correctly, runs efficiently, and contributes to our overall productivity goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair issues with material handling equipment, particularly those involving process logic controls (PLCs) and electrical wiring systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and adhere to a preventive maintenance schedule to reduce equipment downtime, enhance performance, and prolong the life of machinery.
  • Electrical Maintenance: Perform basic electrical maintenance, such as simple repairs and replacements of electrical circuits, wiring, and associated electronic components.
  • Equipment Optimization: Adjust operational settings to optimize equipment for safe and efficient performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, providing guidance on proper equipment setup and operation to maximize efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training in a mechanical or electrical field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
    • Background in work order management, preventive/predictive maintenance, and commonly used industrial tools.
    • Familiarity with basic carpentry, plumbing, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation.
    • Proficiency in AC/DC electrical principles and industrial controls.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Intermediate PC skills and proficiency with mobile apps on handheld devices.
    • Ability to read wiring diagrams, symbols, and utilize electrical measuring tools.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work independently and make decisions.
    • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Effective at prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of apprenticeship or hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical work.
  • Knowledge of automated conveyor systems, controls, and material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards.
  • Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and robotic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic Input/Output (I/O) functions.
