Business Data Analyst with Mortgage and Heavy Duty Story Writing Experience

Location: Herndon, VA - Hybrid work

Required Experience:

• 6 + years of working experience as a data analyst or business analyst who is a major contributor to complex business system solutions.
• 4+ years of gathering business requirements, writing user stories, and conducting user acceptance testing.
• 3 + years of Technical expertise regarding database design and development.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with database and data analytic programs such as Microsoft SQL, Access, and Excel; Informix; knowledge in Attachmate Reflection is a plus.
• Advanced SQL query skills and understanding of relational database principles.
• Excellent written communication, including validating/verifying and technical writing skills.
• Experience working as a Business or Data Analyst in Case Management and Case Tracking Systems will be a plus.
• Multi-tasking and ability to handle priorities as well as work against tight deadlines.
• Data migration experience in data modeling and mapping will be a plus

Responsibilities:

• Understand complex business needs, data requirements and then translate requirements into effective system solutions including improvements, new system features, reporting, visualization, and actionable insights.
• Responsible for the preparation and analysis of operating system requirements for workflow enhancements or reporting interfaces; as well as the collection and analysis of data for special projects.
• Perform ad-hoc system workflow and data analyses.
• Support the streamlining and automation of ad-hoc and standardized system functions.
• Interact with developers and users across the organization to ensure timely delivery of relevant and user-friendly system features, enhancements and reporting.
• Articulate and be influential for future database and predictive analytics development.
• Review business requirements with stakeholders and obtain their sign-off.
• Prepare reporting requirements documentation, reviewing with business and technical teams to ensure the design meets business and technical requirements.
• Work with Project Managers to set timeline and meet project deadlines.
