The Ask? Client is looking for a EMI/EMC Systems Engineer who will be responsible for assisting the EMC Design Engineering team with product testing and debug, new lab brings up and maintenance, and test equipment verification and calibration testing.. Additionally, they will support teardown, rework, and soldering for consumer electronics products.
Skills and Experience_
- Expertise in lab equipment and maintenance procedures, including calibration and verification of ESD guns, surge testers, receivers, oscilloscopes, SAs, VNAs, cables, amplifiers, LISNs, and CDNs
- Experience in product testing and validation at contract manufacturers and at ISO 17025 accredited labs is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with experience generating technical reports
- Experience
- reworking electrical components as small as 01005
- testing and debugging prototype consumer electronics, including software/ firmware and EMC issues
Familiarity with EMC test standards including EN55022, EN55032, IEC61000-3-3, IEC61000-4-2, IEC61000-4-3, IEC61000-4-4, IEC61000-4-5, IEC61000-4-6, IEC61000-4-11, and ETSI 301 489-7 - Experience supervising and performing EMC testing, with a focus on quality assurance and process optimization
Responsibilities:
- Discovery/Assignment Prep
- Test Development and Lab Bringup
- Test Execution and Equipment Verification
- Data Analysis and Equipment Calibration Process Development
- Report Generation and Data Review
- Work closely with engineers to execute test plans per EMC standards
- Prepare test reports and communicate data to engineers
- Review EMC test data, prepare test reports, and debug anomalous
- Facilitate teams to plan deployment of new EMC test equipment and
chambers - Perform periodic calibration and verification measurements for EMC test equipment
- Monitor new test equipment delivery and assist in installation
- Perform rework on consumer electronics, including soldering and mechanical teardown and re-assembly
- Track equipment calibration schedules and coordinate with third party partners
