About The Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Clinical Informaticist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, the Clinical Informaticist will work with integrated health practice agile development teams responsible for delivering professional and technical health informatics (HI) solutions to standardize clinical workflows and processes throughout the VHA Enterprise. Collaboration with clinical analysts, program analysts, health systems specialists, information architects, and other experts will be essential in providing health informatics expertise and developing solutions for the VHA Electronic Health Record.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a cross-functional agile team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Health Informatics Specialists, and clinical professionals to evaluate and analyze clinical workflows in the VA Enterprise, focusing on improving healthcare outcomes and standardizing clinical workflows within the VA EHR ecosystem.
- Develop lean business cases that include feature descriptions and metrics to demonstrate the value of the team's solutions.
- Create documentation for EHR training, ensuring the use of appropriate terminology, abbreviations, graphics, and narratives for training presentations.
- Analyze and construct electronic health records' clinical workflows (e.g., surgical, primary care, dental, specialty care, pharmacy) and clinical data to define new approaches that enhance the quality of patient care and satisfaction for both providers and patients.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience in the healthcare industry
- Value Stream Mapping: Experience developing value stream maps or business process/workflow mapping, along with Lean Six Sigma certification.
Skills
- SAFe Agile/Agile: Familiarity with basic agile principles, methodologies, and tools, including the development of lean business cases and writing feature canvases and user stories.
- Analytical Skills: Understanding of healthcare subject matter to identify KPIs and recommend appropriate measurements, alongside the ability to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze these metrics using standard practices such as Value Stream Maps.
- Project Management: Skill in delivering work within Sprint timelines while maintaining project momentum, anticipating needs, and minimizing risks. Ability to adapt to changes in requirements and manage work using Jira to meet project deadlines.
- Delivery: Ensure high-quality work products through effective prioritization and organization. Advanced proficiency in MS Forms, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, SharePoint, and reporting and analytics tools, along with excellent written and presentation skills.
Preferred:
- Healthcare Informatics: Experience in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred, with an understanding of healthcare operations from a business standpoint (e.g., referrals to specialty care).
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt+ certification.
Clearance requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Must be a US Citizen or possess a Green Card.
