This position is assigned to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL.

This position is not eligible for telecommuting.

Essential Functions

  • Perform Microsoft 2003/2008/2012,2016,2019 systems administrator duties
  • Analyze, log, track and resolve basic software/hardware anomalies pertaining to networking connectivity, printers, servers, and applications to meet mission requirements under the direction of more senior Systems Administrators
  • Assist in hardware/software installations and upgrades to ensure work is properly performed in accordance with company/Space Force policy
  • Assist with Isolating and diagnosing common system problems; document system events to ensure continuous functioning
  • Implement approved course of action
  • Perform system backups and standard administrator duties
  • Interface with all levels of RGNext, Space Force, Department of Defense, Eastern Range customers and management
  • Assist with Reviewing system logs for vulnerability and optimization
  • Conduct Information Assurance Assessments
  • Complete assigned training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • AS degree in an associated discipline, (Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering) or completion of an IT certificate program, (Network Server Administration or equivalent program), or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 0 - 2 years’ experience with system administration and related Information Systems, Computer/Network Security
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2016/2019 systems administration and networking
  • Knowledge of the following
    • SAN technology - storage - switches - Fiber channel and iSCSI
    • Windows 2008,2012,2016,2019 Active Directory administration
    • VMWare Data Center Virtualization technology
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 6, 7, 8 and its CLI
  • Knowledge of installing, configuring and troubleshooting O/S and server applications such as IIS, SharePoint, and MS SQL server
  • Knowledge of data communications protocols (TCP/IP); principles and practices of security implementation in the areas of data communications and information systems
  • Working Knowledge of Windows 2000, NT, XP, Win 7, and Win 10, preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Some local travel may be required to meet critical operational schedules
  • DoD 8570 Certification (Security+ CE or CISSP or CASP), or ability to obtain and maintain certification within six months of employment
  • The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends/holidays to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
