Position: Operational Technology Network Engineer
Structure: Contract, 6 months to start
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 p/h inc

Typical day in the role:
- Manage, implement, and maintain operational technology (OT) and (IT) networks in accordance with industry best practices and company standards.
- Configure and manage Fortinet/Cisco/Siemens security appliances to ensure the integrity and security of OT networks.
- Deploy and implement Network OT applications and services.
- Good understanding in HMI, PLC control systems.
- Strong understanding with all networking protocols TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, CIPs , ARP, BGP DCHP , DNS and being able to manage and design traffic egress and ingress.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HMI systems into OT networks, ensuring seamless operation and interoperability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including performance optimization, connectivity problems, and security incidents.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintain accurate inventory of OT assets
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to OT networks and cybersecurity.
- Develop and manage business continuity plans for the OT systems and ensure those plans are established and tested.
- Design and implement, cyber protections and sufficient air gaps of critical infrastructure.

- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of OT systems and their specifications.
- Experience working with industrial or logistical operations systems to effectively assess and implement IT/OT applications that automate and simplify workflows for critical business activities.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
- Demonstrated skill in business acumen including a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, sound judgment, critical thinking and confidentiality.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written coupled with the ability to manage conflict and diffuse situations appropriately.
- Strong ability to analyze complex situations, identify key issues, prioritize, and bring solid solutions to the table.
- Strong working knowledge of ICS communications and protocols including: Profinet; Modbus Fieldbus; BACNet, ControlNet, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or Computer Engineering, or Control Systems Engineer is a plus (Equivalent experience will be considered)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working as a network engineer, preferably in an operational technology (OT) environment.
- Min. 7-10 years' experience in Information Technology field
- Strong understanding of Cisco Firepower security appliances and their configuration for OT network protection.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco UCS servers to support OT applications and services.
- Solid experience with Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policies.
- Familiarity with Rockwell and HMI systems and their integration into OT networks.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Experience with Fortinet and Fortigate is desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
