As a Financial Management Specialist, you will:

Establish and maintain technical knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of budgeting and/or financial management sufficient to: analyze large and complex Agency and Departmental programs, including contracts and other agency agreements and obligation documents; develop, recommend, and implement financial policies; and, provide interpretations of executive orders, Departmental/OMB/GAO/Treasury/OIG guidelines and directives, and policies and precedents within and across agency lines.

Develop and/or maintain and deliver or present office process guides, standard operating procedures, workflow and desk procedures, or other informational/training documents as requested or assigned. Assists with the establishment and/or implementation of training sessions related to documentation established.

Perform funds and financial process reconciliation. Maintain oversight of integrity and quality of financial data contained in the FMCSA accounting system, including verification and validation of commitments, obligations, and expenses; reconciliation of accounts/appropriations; and general support to FMCSA program offices.

Provide assistance and customer support for the FMCSA travel, travel card and travel system activities as assigned or directed.
