Our client is seeking a R Shiny Developer for a remote opportunity.
Role Description
Day to Day:
about 85% of the time will be spent in Shiny. SQL querying skills would also be beneficial as they will need to be able to read in data.
Looking for someone who will take initiative, be proactive, and ask questions.
Must be able to work cross-functionally across different departments
Whole team is fully remote - must be able to work independently, and also be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with a remote team
Skills & Requirements
Summary of required skillset
Ability to design, debug and deploy Shiny applications with custom UI components (e.g., fluidPage, tabPanel, sidebarLayout) and manage standard Shiny syntax (reactive expressions, and observers, etc.) to handle complex user and data interactions.
Experience with tidyverse for data manipulation and advanced visualizations using ggplot2, plotly, with creating complex tables using DT or similar packages.
Familiar with custom JavaScript functions for advanced user interactions (e.g., input validation, dynamic UI updates) and using CSS frameworks and support UI.
Essentially, we may be looking for an R Shiny Developer that can help with a rebuild project. Most of the work will be back-end development and integration with database ecosystem and security system
Top Skills:
3-5 years of experience
Proficiency in R: Strong understanding of R programming, including data manipulation (using packages like dplyr) and data visualization (using ggplot2).
Shiny Framework: Deep knowledge of the Shiny package, including both the UI and server components.
o Must have experience deploying Shiny apps into a live production environment -- they won't be handling the actual deployment, but they should have a strong understanding of each phase of the SDLC, including testing, deploying, etc.
Web Technologies - familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to enhance the functionality and appearance of Shiny applications.
Data Analysis: Ability to perform statistical analysis and interpret data to create meaningful visualizations.
Testing: Someone who knows how to test code is ideal - Harrison mentioned that one of the key deliverables for this person will be to create a comprehensive test suite that will serve as a robust framework for ensuring the reliability and functionality of their Shiny applications.
