Summary: Purpose of position to plan, implement, administer, and advise on Education and Training academic opportunities, tuition assistance program, career and force development programs, and other education and training services and activities provided to military members, retirees, Department of Defense (DoD) civilian members, and their families.

Duties:

  • Provides individual career, academic, and force development counseling to military personnel of all ranks, their dependents, and/or civilian personnel pursuing undergraduate/graduate, vocational, technical, licensure/certification, and professional development opportunities at various levels.
  • Serves as technical expert on a variety of educational programs. Evaluates individual's potential and eligibility for a multitude of programs to include Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), Air Force commissioning, Defense Activity for Nontraditional Education Services (DANTES), non-resident professional military education (PME), and VA education benefits. Advises separating and retiring Airmen on the Job Training, Employment Skills Training, Apprenticeships, and Internships (JTEST-AI) for eligible Service Members (i.e. SkillBridge).
  • Provides mass briefings and a variety of outreach and customer services duties.
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties related to the educational counseling program.
  • Counsels/Advises military personnel, their dependents, and /or eligible civilian personnel regarding military and academic testing programs and how they apply to career development and degree programs.
  • Administers the installation's military personnel tests for a variety of military purposes to include procurement, aptitude, promotion, proficiency, and qualification tests including the Armed Forces Classification Test, the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test, the Electronic Data Processing Test, the Test of Basic Aviation Skills Defense Language Proficiency Test, and Air Force WAPS, interest batteries (Sil) and career assessment inventories, A4/6 end of course tests.
  • Manages installation level testing programs for military tests (WAPS, DLPT, AFCT, etc.), and A4/6 tests (CDC, PME, etc.). For the military tests: identifies promotion eligibility requirements involving grade, Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC), training status codes, promotion eligibility codes, and Enlisted Performance Reports, and coordinates with office of primary responsibility (OPR) to validate and determine correct data.
