Main Purpose of Job

Under the Anne Arundel County Department of Health (AACDOH) Bureau of Family Health Services and Program Manager of Access to Care Programs, the main purpose of the position of Coordinator of Special Program IV within the Administrative Care Coordination Program (ACC) focuses on the planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating of the ACC Program. The major responsibilities include staff supervision, oversight of the ACC Program according to regulations established by COMAR, and facilitation of the AACDOH’s mission to preserve, promote and protect the public health of all people who live, work and play in the County.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.

Notes

  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

Desired Or Preferred Qualifications

The desired candidate should possess the following:

  • Experience in administrative work, medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement programs, to include experience in provision of care coordination
  • Knowledge of county programs and resources
  • Experience applying Medicaid/HealthChoice Program policies including eligibility requirements, benefits, services, navigation, complaint process, and related services
  • Experience interpreting and applying a variety of laws, policies, regulations, and standards and procedures
