As a mainframe systems engineer lead in the Enterprise System Continuity Mainframe Engineering team, you'll focus on automation of the mainframe platform. You'll design and implement automation strategies and programs on infrastructure centric projects across the enterprise with a focus on the mainframe capability. You'll also assist the organization adopt and mature our Automation First mindset. You'll manage our very large and complex mainframe environment, to include our Sysplex and multi-LPAR environment. You'll perform mainframe systems programming tasks such as installing, testing, and deploying IBM and Independent Software Vendor (ISV) software including applying z/OS RSU maintenance and z/OS upgrades. You'll also engineer, evaluate and design software deployment strategies and management processes. You'll partner with the subject matter expert on these efforts and help maintain technical roadmaps and assist in upgrade forecasting. Additionally, you'll gather trace data, logs, and other supporting material from all components and open service requests with vendors to provide ongoing support as needed.
This is a remote position for US-based work only.

Must-have qualifications
- Associate's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline, Math or other related field of study and a minimum of six years working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems may be accepted
Preferred Skills
- Advanced understanding of OPS/MVS and automation on z/OS
- Detailed understanding of JES2, CICS, DB2 and MQ Series
- Advanced Programming skills including Rexx
- Knowledge of the IBM z/OS Operating System and its components such as GDPS, JES2, WLM, VTAM, DFSMS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, IOF, Sysview, and z/OS Commands and System utilities
- Managing software settings in Parmlibs, HCD and databases
Compensation
- $125,280 - $139,200/year
- Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
