Position Overview

The IT Support Technician serves as both a service desk and field technician, playing a vital role in maintaining the organization’s technology infrastructure. This position involves providing first-line technical support, setting up and maintaining devices, and delivering exceptional customer service—from headquarters or at remote sites across the mountain. In addition to resolving helpdesk issues, the technician will perform hands-on fieldwork to ensure technology is operational in various locations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing troubleshooting tasks, field assignments, and follow-through on service requests.

Job Performance Expectations

  • Service Desk Support:
    • Provide first-line support for IT issues reported by users.
    • Install and support software for end users
    • Document issues and resolutions to build a knowledge base for future reference.
    • Provide troubleshooting assistance for hardware and software issues.
    • Escalate more complex technical problems to senior IT staff as necessary.
    • Monitor inventory levels of endpoints and peripherals
    • Coordinate with vendors for hardware, software, and other services.
    • Field Work
    • Familiarity with networking principles necessary in troubleshooting problems
  • Customer Service:
    • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with users and maintaining a professional demeanor.
    • Sets expectations and delivers on promises.
    • Workstation setup and deployment – soup to nuts setup from first boot to desk setup and white glove handoff to employee
    • Follow-up and follow thru are key responsibilities in this position
    • Provide onsite and remote support via phone on / or remote session.
    • Works well with others, respectful and respected.
  • Device Setup and Configuration:
    • Assist in the setup and configuration of laptops, tablets, iPhones, and any other hardware for new hires and existing employees.
    • Onboarding and Offboarding of users – following and improving documented procedures
    • Do, Document, Deliver philosophy
    • Provide initial training on device usage and best practices.
    • Axess Equipment setup and troubleshooting.
    • Support with inventory management and procurement
Ideal Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills needed to research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to customer issues.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows and Mac operating system, as well as iOS and Android
  • Helpdesk functions such as experience with incident ticketing and tracking systems
  • Detail oriented
  • Seeks to create order, documentation and process and thrives in an environment where that is expected
  • Experience with and motivated by creating robust and accurate documentation
  • Field experience
  • Administrative knowledge of Google Workspace
