Vee Inc. hiring for Engineering Manager for our Client Stackpole International Inc.
Job Description:
Plan, organize and coordinate engineering and tooling. Participate in design analysis, concept development of new programs. The development and tracking of product metrics to the business plan.
Responsibilities:
Maintain standard cost sheets, product routings, at a minimum review annually to maintain Standard Cost sheets.
Develop and maintain product cost summary with reconciliation to financial plan and cost reduction initiatives.
Provide detailed capacity plan and machine loading plan that includes specific machines, cycle times, changeover time, scrap, and staffing.
Interface with all departmental groups to meet plant targets / expectations.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, capacity analysis, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Work with tool design group and develop initiatives to improve products and tooling in order to improve operational and manufacturing efficiencies.
Leads continuous improvement activities.
Leads SRED activities
Analyzes production problems, facilitating participation in determining engineering or operational solutions.
Participate in the review and analysis of new applications. Work with the product development engineering and develop concept proposals.
Selection of special characteristics Utilize analytical tools, such as FEA, for a complete analysis of design concepts. Assist the engineering group in validating design assumptions.
Communicates with the staff of other departments to give advice, share information and to resolve operational issues.
Reviews training & development, selection and retention of competent and motivated employees to share with Manager.
Investigates, shares and implements best practices within areas of responsibility.
Part of the A.P.Q.P. team responsible for new product launch. Work in compliance with Stackpole PMDM Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements:
Engineering Degree plus transferable skills from manufacturing, CNC machining, product development, project management, and design review with customers.
Strong knowledge of process flow development, capacity planning, and resources utilization.
Accomplished Leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills.
Minimum 10 yrs. experience in an automotive parts manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles with demonstrated ability to apply them in an automotive operations environment.
Proven experience in development of required efficiency/utilization targets and comparative tracking to business plan.
Candidates with a Powder Metallurgy Technologist (PMT) Certification level 1 & 2 will be preferred, successful candidate will be required to obtain certifications.
