Overall Assignment Description - Mid-Level Systems Engineer: As a Mid-Level Systems Engineer at TULK, you'll leverage a diverse array of systems engineering skills to adopt a multi-disciplinary approach. You'll engage in requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, service development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and analysis within a complex system of systems. Our project supports the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in delivering timely and precise Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) to the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG), and other Federal Agencies.
Duties of the Mid-Level Systems Engineer include:
- Proficiently handle requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, service development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and analysis.
- Strategize and execute planning and analysis, trace user requirements, establish architecture traceability, enhance existing systems through automation, and evaluate cloud service capabilities, workflow, and scheduling constraints.
- Craft solution designs grounded in requirements analysis and emerging technology.
- Mentor Junior Engineers in honing these skill sets.
- Collaborate with the Government to capture and translate mission and customer requirements into systems/capability requirements and solutions.
- Skillfully allocate requirements to systems architecture components and oversee program execution.
- Contribute to systems integration activities on behalf of the Government.
- Assist in performing Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Actions (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
- Support strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design for the Government.
Required Skills and Experience of the Mid-Level Systems Engineer:
- US Citizenship: Candidates must hold US citizenship.
- US Government Issued TS/SCI Security Clearance: An active Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) Security Clearance is mandatory.
- 6+ Years of Relevant Experience: Candidates should possess at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor s Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related technical or scientific fields (e.g., engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM programs) is required.
- Mid-Level Working Experience: Candidates must have mid-level experience in government or industry in areas such as DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process, or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
- Mid-Level Systems Engineering Experience: Proficiency in system engineering at the mid-level in government or industry is essential.
Desired Skills and Experience of the Mid-Level Systems Engineer:
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering, its processes, tools, and languages, is highly advantageous.
- Software Development Frameworks: Working knowledge of Software Development Frameworks is a plus.
- Geospatial Intelligence: Documented work experience in geospatial intelligence is desirable.
- Professional Organizations: Membership or active participation in professional organizations such as ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, or USGIF is beneficial.
- Geospatial Expertise: A solid grasp of photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems, geomatics, or related fields is a valuable asset.
- NSG/ASG and NRO Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises is advantageous.
