This position is located on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
Essential Functions
- Provide SME level review and guidance for user bandwidth requests.
- Request and engineer IT circuits per customer requirements.
- Track, review, and respond to DITCO CSA lease renewals.
- Order, change and discontinue terrestrial, SATCOM and radio communications products following DISA, DITCO and Army processes.
- Coordinates and troubleshoots with DISA NetOps centers, adjacent facilities, customer agencies, maintenance organizations, and commercial vendors to install, troubleshoot, isolate, repair, and effect restoration of service.
- Write DISA Request for Service, Delayed Service Reports, In Effect Reports.
- Generate technical control operating records such as circuit history folders, master station logs, trouble tickets, outage and restoration records.
- Create circuit drawings using design, drawing, and engineering software (ie AutoCAD, MS Visio, etc).
- Install and maintain circuits traversing Promina multiplexors and Nortel Fiber multiplexors.
- Perform long-haul circuit restoration, fault isolation, quality control testing, trend analysis, performance monitoring, and status reporting.
- Operate tools and test equipment used to monitor and analyze circuit performance (ie Fireberd, T-berd, Multimeter, Oscilloscope, etc).
Required Skills
- Experienced Project Manager for government information systems.
- Familiarity of TCP/IP behavior, network communications.
- Familiarity of Firewalls.
- Familiarity with network communication products including router, switches, firewalls, and Domain Name Servers (DNS).
- Familiarity with cyber security STIGs compliance and Security Standards/Protocols.
- Basic PC operation.
- Ability to patch, test, perform frequency changes, troubleshoot and restore communications circuits.
- Proficient ability to read schematic diagrams, manufacturers service manuals, and other documentation to determine equipment fault or circuit degradation and to perform repair and restoration procedures.
- Understanding of DOD/DISA transport connection/provisioning requirements.
- Familiar with DISA Storefront circuit ordering.
- Familiar with DISA circulars; C-310-70-1, C-310-130-2, and C-310-130-4.
- Familiar with DISA, Commercial, SCN Comm systems and topology.
Required Experience
- Associates degree in electronics or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eight (8) years experience in Circuit Actions with at least four years in Technical Control or commercial equivalent fixed station operations and maintenance.
- Experienced as a Circuit Actions Manager and DISA Node Site Coordinator of a Technical Control Facility.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Must be able to relocate to Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
- This position is unaccompanied.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Driver s License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
- The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific projects or mission requirements.
