Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed and accurate drawings for land planning and recreation projects that involve the planning, design, and management of outdoor spaces. These projects aim to enhance the aesthetic, ecological, and functional qualities of the environment and may include public spaces such as parks, plazas, and streetscapes, and master plans for entire neighborhoods or communities including sports fields, playgrounds, trails, and recreational facilities.
  • Transform conceptual designs and sketches into technical drawings.
  • May assist in conducting site analysis and collaborate with other disciplines to gather relevant data for design projects.
  • Collaborate with the team to incorporate topographical information and constraints into designs.
  • Work closely with landscape architects and engineers to develop plans, layouts, and specifications.
  • Ensure that designs comply with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Complete drawings/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule while reviewing own work for completeness and accuracy.
  • Organize and maintain files and project-related information per company procedures.
  • Stays informed about advancements in CAD technology and tools. Analyzes and devises new or improved techniques when problems arise. Communicates solutions to supervisor for approval and implementation.
  • Serves on Committees and Teams as requested by management.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in a field related to computer-aided drafting and two years of relevant experience or four years of relevant experience. Training and/or experience should include the use of and familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ARCGIS, and other programs with a working knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science and engineering technology preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician, preferably in land planning, recreation, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with civil engineering and landscape architecture projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address design challenges.
  • Ability to interpret and implement design specifications and ability to incorporate feedback into design revisions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat required.
  • Valid driver's license.
