NPD Machinist II Position Summary
The NDP Machinist I will be responsible to work in a precision tooling environment programming, setting up, and operating multiple types of Toolroom Equipment to manufacture multiple forms of tooling components from CAD models.
This positions shift schedule is Monday - Friday 230pm - 1100pm
NDP Machinist II Responsibilities
Cretex Companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process. Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.

NDP Machinist II Responsibilities
- Manufacture fixturing and tooling from engineering drawings with minimal assistance
- Build reliable tooling components on time
- Perform maintenance on Toolroom equipment
- Ensure revision levels of paperwork and tooling components are current
- Design specialty fixturing for Toolroom processes with assistance
- Troubleshoot using numbers based scientific approach, and determine best solutions
- Document maintenance and build activities in required databases
- Surface grind to required tolerances
- Work closely with others to ensure best practices are used during the build of all tooling components
- Monitor and assist in the refinement of all toolroom processes
- Identify fixturing, gaging, and tooling needs for toolroom effectiveness
- Develop CAM programs from CAD generated models
- Set up and operate CNC and Manual Toolroom Equipment to produce high quality precise tooling components and other piece parts
- Setup and operate toolroom measurement equipment
- Adhere to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required
- Accurately records and reports hours worked
- Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
- Partner with other business segments sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
- Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
- Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
- Participate in required company meetings
- Maintain an organized work area (5S)
- Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
- Complete all other work duties as assigned
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Technical Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of machining precision components
- Capable of performing work activities driven from work orders, project plans, and maintenance procedures, and training documents
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Critical thinking and writing
- Good ability to conceptualize complex geometry and assemblies
- Good ability to troubleshoot the machining process
- Basic theory of cutting tools and machining process
- Strong math skills, including trigonometry
- Good ability to identify different materials and their relationship to design (form, fit, and function)
- Advanced theory of cutting tools and machining practices required to manufacture tooling components
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot by reading surface finish
- Excellent open layout measurement skills
- Ability to read, comprehend, follow and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documents
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Dexterity and hand and eye coordination
- Ability to use a microscope
- Ability to read and comprehend Drawings and GD&T
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Proficient in Mastercam, Esprit, SolidWorks
- Medical Device manufacturing
- Proficient in learning/understanding multiple NC machine interfaces (Fanuc, Agie, Charmilles, Accurite, etc.)
- Basic skills and knowledge of Lean principles and toolroom process flow
